About the Journal
Averroes: Journal of Science and Religious Studies (E-ISSN: 3032-6346) is an open access, peer-reviewed, and double-blind journal published three times a year (February, July, and December) by Graha Cendekia al-Karomah, Yayasan Insan Cendekia Nusantara (ICNU).
Averroes aims to advance interdisciplinary and critical research on Islam and Muslim societies with a particular focus on their transformative role in addressing contemporary social, ethical, cultural, and environmental challenges. The journal aims to bridge classical Islamic thought and modern social sciences, promoting dialogue between tradition and modernity to encourage sustainable social change based on Islamic values and universal ethics.
Averroes provides an academic platform for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to explore how Islamic teachings, institutions, and intellectual traditions contribute to inclusive development, peacebuilding, human rights, environmental ethics, gender justice, and global solidarity.
The journal accepts original research articles, conceptual articles, and critical reviews (but not limited to) in the fields of Islamic Thought and Social Ethics; Islam and Social Sciences; Education, Knowledge, and Reform; Gender, Equality, and Human Rights; Religion, Culture, and Local Wisdom; Islam, Environment, and Sustainable Development; Digital Islam and Contemporary Issues.
